Michelle Lockyer, Michelle is a the mother of 5 amazing kids and has been a resident of Escondido for almost 30 years. She was born and raised in San Diego county. Five years ago she decided to join Seint (then Maskcara) a makeup company that specializes in helping women be able to wear makeup in a fun, quick and easy way. Last year she decided she wanted to take on a new activity and became the director of the Miss Escondido Scholarship Pageant. Putting on a pageant was a whole new experience but so worth the time and effort. Being able to teach young women to become our future leader has become a passion of hers.
My why!
I remember when I was young I never felt like I fit in. I was always the ugly poor kid. As I got older it got worse and I was bullied a lot because of my crooked and buck teeth. This made my face look out of proportion. I had very long hair but really didn’t know how to take care of it. As I went into high school I got braces and my smile became better but I still never felt like I fit in. Looking back I probably did fit in better than I thought I was just unaware of it.
When I decided to try Seint I was in a place that wasn’t happy. I felt like I didn’t have any friends. I remember seeing a young lady I once knew using the makeup and thought wow that looks so easy and so good. I called her and asked about the makeup. The first thing she said to me was you should join my team. My first thought was “no way, I’m not good enough to do something like that”.
I ordered the makeup and fell in love with it. This is why I finally joined after having family telling me that I really should become an artist because when I was playing with the makeup and putting it one them they could see how much joy it was bringing. It was perfect timing as my grandma had just passed away and I needed something for me to take my mind off of the problems.
I have more friends now than I’ve ever had and honestly all are because of Seint. I have Seint sisters that I met at reunions, some from selling the makeup to some beautiful and amazing women. One of the best decisions I’ve made in my life is joining Seint.
